The 2006 FUBAR Awards

After a 4 years absence, the Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition Awards return. The number of awards was limited down the 8 major categories this year, but that doesn't make them any less important!

Distorted lead the way, with wins in Best Film, Best Actor, and Best Villain. Breaking Point was close behind with Best Director and Best Supporting Actor. My Friend Frankie and Three Brothers and a Mother each came away with an award as well.

We'll be putting winners acceptance speeches on the site as soon as we get them.

Here's the run down of the nominees, with the winners name in bold:

Best Film
Breaking Point
Distorted
Summersdale Vice
Lightbulb

Producer Marc Burrage: "Wow, this was a tough category this year. I'm really pleased with how everything worked out despite some last minute setbacks. I'd like to thank Jimmy and Brad for their hardwork in getting it all done so quickly. You're both beautiful people, but I don't sexually love you. I'd make a sequel but only Jimmy survived!"

Best Director
Bradley Barlow - Breaking Point
Marc Burrage - Distorted
Paul Newton - Three Brothers and a Mother
Matt Bauer - Rumbo 2: Son of Rumbo

"Woohoo!! I'm as giddy as an old lady - such a prestigious award for my debut feature! I'm immensely proud of this film and what we all achieved with no budget and a cast that was only two-thirds talented. I have every intention to get back behind the camera this year - a couple of projects are slowly gearing up and I reckon they're both gonna be pretty spectacular! Watch this space and thanks again!"

Best Actor in a Dramatic Role
James Titcumb - Distorted
Marc Burrage - Breaking Point
Richard Anderson - Lightbulb
Bradley Barlow - Lesser of Two Evils

"Well, I just want to thank the whole crew.. I think I can name all of them - Marc, Brad,... myself... and the Directors Marc and Brad, and my family, and my rabbit, and my fiancée, all my fellow actors (Marc, Brad), the choreography department (Marc), everyone involved in this truly epic masterpiece. Also I'd like to thank all of my 0 fans for nominating me, and to the judges for picking the best man for the FUBAR. This one goes out to all of my fans, and stay true - keep nominating me for everything you can up until I'm 88 years old when I get a trailer for getting 17 FUBARs!! Thanks!

Best Actor in a Comedy Role
Marc Burrage - Summersdale Vice
Paul Newton - Bad Cops 2
Michael Bailey - My Friend Frankie
Nick Poffley - Earth Dark Vengeance

"What a prestigious honour. I would like to quote a famous proverb if I may, “It must be that the airplane's propeller serves only to cool the pilot off... Because if you make it stop, he sure starts to sweat. “. I’m not entirely sure how that relates to this award, but I feel I’ve made my point. Now, onto the thank you’s… Thanks to Marc for being a tolerant co-star, Bradley for directing this, err, film, Emirates Airways for flying me halfway around the world to shoot this, err, film, and of course everyone on the planet for voting for me. YOU GUYS ROCK!"

Best Supporting Actor in a Dramatic Role
Rachel Clements - Lightbulb
Adam House - Breaking Point
Matt Andrews - Earth Dark Vengeance
Antony Plain - The Silence
Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Role
Richard Anderson - Summersdale Vice
Paul Newton - Three Brothers and a Mother
Michael Bailey - Rumbo 2: Son of Rumbo
Bradley Barlow - Delusions

"Just a few words to thank you for your kind award, it means a lot to me and my family. I would like to thank the FUBAR people for making this all happen. Of course id like to thank my family for supporting me throughout and to friends for their constant motivation. Without which I wouldn’t be where I am today. Finally I have to thank Mr Burrage of course for his tireless devotion to the art of celluloid and his endeavours to get the things on screen that we all want to see, and lets hope he gets the Oscar that he richly deserves. I thank you from the bottom of my heart."

Best Villain
James Titcumb - Earth Dark Vengeance
Marc Burrage - Distorted
Michael Bailey - Lesser of Two Evils
Bradley Barlow - And Then There Were Two

"I never ever get to play bad people, so I had a lot of anger behind this one just bursting to get out! It's amazing how easy it was to be mean when you get to shoot Bradley Barlow. I wanted to shoot him in the face but I guess you don't always get what you want. I'd name all the people who inspired me to be so evil but we'd be here a while."

Best Bad Acting
Matt House - Earth Dark Vengeance
Kiri Anderson - Breaking Point
Bradley Barlow - Earth Dark Vengeance
Antony Plain - Delusions

"And so, as one dream is fulfilled with the award of Best Director, another is shattered like a kid being told that the tooth fairy has been tragically killed in a three-car crash on the M25. I have always been proud of my acting ability (note my nominations for Best Actor in a Dramatic Role, Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Role and Best Villain - all for different films!). However, the panel have decided to piss on my parade and award me an award for Best Bad Acting for a film I didn't even want to be in... However, like Halle Berry, I shall accept my award with dignity - although I'm sure that in FOUR FRIGGIN' YEARS there were worse attempts at acting than mine. Cheers, or, whatever..."

He goes on... "it's frickin unbelievable that in FOUR YEARS of films they chose me in a bad wig who was blatantly spoofing the scifi genre as the worst fuckin actor!!!"

And on... "i've got a fucking degree in performance and out of FOUR YEARS of films it's ME who is the worst actor above those clowns and schmucks?!?"
